Support programme aviation technology Hamburg

Since 2001, more than 40 projects have been funded by the Support Programme Aviation Technology Hamburg, which has provided support in particular for cooperation projects involving production and service companies, scientific institutes and universities. The results consist of innovative products and procedures which at the same time are close to the market. More information is available at www.dlr.de.

Research and development in Hamburg as a place for aviation

In Hamburg as a place for aviation various different cutting-edge technologies with a wide range of applications are involved in the development, construction, interior design, maintenance and world-wide support of passenger and cargo aircraft, with a special focus on cabins/cabin systems and assembly procedures.

Hamburg offers a high concentration of companies and aircraft-related research institutes, including in particular the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH), the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg), the Technology Centre Hamburg-Finkenwerder (THF), the University Hamburg, the Helmut Schmidt University (HSU) and TuTech Innovation GmbH.

The range covered by their projects extends from basic substances and materials, surface protection and material processing via device and model construction, instrumentation and control as well as equipment, through to aircraft interiors and cabin systems.
